Responsibilities
- Own observability, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes clusters and critical workloads.
- Build and maintain automation for Kubernetes provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Lead infrastructure cost-optimization workstreams including right-sizing, workload scheduling, and waste reduction.
- Partner with engineering teams on infrastructure decisions from design through deployment.
- Identify and resolve reliability bottlenecks before they become incidents.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and resolve service disruptions.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems for platform issues.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles, including running Kubernetes in production at scale and handling troubleshooting, upgrades, and scaling.
- Require familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Require hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster autoscaling and workload scheduling systems such as Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler.
- Require proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Crossplane, or Pulumi.
- Require hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and eBPF.
- Require familiarity with GitOps-based delivery and tools such as Argo CD and Kargo.
- Require proficiency managing and deploying Kubernetes applications with Kustomize and Helm.
- Require solid Linux systems knowledge, including low-level fundamentals.
- Require knowledge of HTTP, TLS, DNS, and other web and network protocols.
- Require strong programming skills in at least one modern language beyond basic scripting, such as Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Require comfort using AI as a collaborator in daily work.
- Nice-to-have qualifications include multi-region AWS or cloud deployments, deep Kubernetes internals or ecosystem knowledge, and experience operationalizing canary infrastructure.
