Responsibilities
- Contribute to the architecture and design of distributed applications with strict performance and resilience requirements.
- Build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix Ruby and Golang applications and self-contained Golang microservices.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient Ruby and Golang code.
- Integrate PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, Redis, Kafka, ClickHouse, and other data-storage solutions.
- Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle and provide code reviews.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with other teams on shared projects.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems, identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
Requirements
- At least seven years of industry experience building scalable distributed backend applications.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms, web application infrastructure, network protocols, databases, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience programming in at least two languages; the primary codebase uses Ruby and is migrating toward Golang and Rust.
- Basic understanding of cloud deployments using Kubernetes, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related subject.
- Background in Golang, Rust, WASM, Kotlin Multiplatform, network programming, application or data security, and physical database design is beneficial.
- Experience with Docker, DevOps, ML, DBA, enterprise applications, data-processing pipelines, or third-party REST APIs at scale is beneficial.
- Ability to technically lead projects, work with requirements and cost analysis, and collaborate with distributed teams.
