Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, and manage distributed database systems on Kubernetes.
Coordinate zero-downtime migrations from monolithic to distributed architectures.
Drive efficiency improvements through query optimization and workload management.
Establish standards for automation to ensure data consistency and security.
Reduce on-call burden by implementing sustainable operational solutions.
Collaborate with product engineering teams for reliable product development.
Mentor engineers on best practices for operating distributed systems.

12+ years of software engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure systems.
Hands-on experience with distributed databases on Kubernetes, preferably TiDB.
Deep expertise in distributed data systems, including sharding and transaction management.
Proven experience with complex, zero-downtime migrations in production environments.
5+ years of AWS experience with RDS, Aurora, and caching systems.
Strong communication skills to simplify technical complexity.
Curiosity and ability to leverage AI tooling for infrastructure operations.
Bonus: Experience with service extraction and vertical sharding.
