Base Salary
$16k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, own, and maintain large-scale distributed systems.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, front-end developers, product owners, and other cross-functional teams to develop scalable and resilient applications.
- Establish and execute short- and long-term design and architectural roadmaps.
- Improve the efficiency and flexibility of the business platform while maintaining high standards for customer trust, performance, and availability.
- Implement clean, maintainable, and efficient code using distributed application development best practices.
- Conduct testing and debugging to identify and resolve software issues.
- Innovate on the platform to support Rocket Growth programs.
- Provide technical direction to junior engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience, including 5+ years working with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems.
- 6+ years of professional coding experience using a modern programming language such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C++, or C#.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in an agile development environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers is preferred.
- Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management about requirements, software features, technical designs, and product strategy is preferred.
- Experience influencing software engineering best practices within a team is preferred.
- Hands-on expertise across front-end user interfaces, back-end systems, and related technologies is preferred.
- Experience working backward from customer needs and delivering innovative, simple solutions is preferred.
