Responsibilities
- Design and implement limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software and networking subsystems.
- Analyze designs and determine required coding, programming, and integration activities.
- Write portions of testing plans, protocols, documentation, and testing scripts; debug code and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.
- Communicate software design status, project progress, and issue resolution with internal and external development partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 6–10 years of experience in programming, operating-system concepts, and networking concepts.
- Strong Linux operating-system knowledge and very good programming skills in C and C++.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including data plane, L2/L3 forwarding, ACLs, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of software systems design across multiple platform types and software testing methodology, including test-plan execution and debugging.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and English communication skills.
