Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly available Data Quality Platform services and applications across batch and streaming domains.
- Own end-to-end feature and service delivery from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production optimization.
- Develop capabilities for data profiling, quality rules, data contracts, anomaly detection, incident workflows, alerting, and data health visibility.
- Drive code quality, observability, incident reduction, performance, reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and guide best practices in software engineering, testing, and distributed-systems architecture.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, data platform teams, and data-domain owners to build reusable technical solutions.
- Integrate AI/ML-enabled and machine-assisted capabilities for rule authoring, anomaly detection, and issue explanation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of professional backend software development experience in an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin.
- Proven end-to-end ownership of services or components, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong proficiency in a modern programming language and core software engineering practices, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, testing, and version control.
- Hands-on experience designing and consuming APIs, working with data models and storage systems, and applying system design principles.
- Experience with high-traffic distributed systems, high-throughput data systems, batch or streaming pipelines, and backward-compatible APIs.
- Experience with data platforms, data quality, data observability, data pipelines, data contracts, or analytics systems.
- Track record of driving technical direction and making tradeoffs involving scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.
- Strong operational-excellence background including monitoring, alerting, incident response, SRE practices, and production-system improvement.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to products and existing services.
- Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives or migrations and mentoring engineers, including responsible use of AI-assisted development and testing tools.
