Base Salary

$134k - $187k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, roadmap, and delivery of the perception stack across all vehicle platforms.
  • Lead, hire, mentor, and technically review a small perception engineering team while remaining hands-on.
  • Deliver detection, recognition, and image-space tracking that maintains and reacquires targets in clutter, glare, low light, occlusion, and degraded communications.
  • Define perception output contracts, calibrated confidence, degraded-detection signaling, and detection operating points with state-estimation and engagement-authorization owners.
  • Guide the transition from classical computer vision to learned detection and classification while maintaining deterministic fallbacks.
  • Deploy perception software to constrained onboard compute and optimize accuracy, latency, and embedded-accelerator performance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years developing production computer vision or perception software, including 2+ years leading a team or technical program as a tech lead or engineering manager.
  • Demonstrated delivery of perception software on a physical system operating in an uncontrolled outdoor environment.
  • Expert proficiency in C++ and Python with production experience under real-time or resource-constrained requirements.
  • Depth in classical and learned perception, including tracking, feature matching, data association, detection, and classification networks.
  • Experience deploying neural networks to embedded accelerators such as NVIDIA Jetson, TensorRT, Qualcomm, Hailo, or equivalent, including quantization and accuracy-latency characterization.
  • Working knowledge of EO and IR/thermal imaging, camera calibration, sensor characteristics, and long-range or low-light small-object detection.
  • Experience defining datasets, labeling requirements, detection and tracking metrics, and regression tests against logged flight or field data.
  • Experience selecting detection thresholds and operating points for safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with sensor timing and synchronization, coordinate frames, uncertainty representation, state estimation, and navigation.
  • Preferred experience selecting and integrating thermal/LWIR sensors, operating a fleet data engine, state estimation and sensor fusion, and flight or field test operations.

  • US salary range is $133,500–$187,000 in base salary, with competitive equity grants included in total compensation.
