Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build conversational interfaces for long-horizon agents with streaming responses, visible tool calls, pause and interrupt controls, and mid-task steering.
- Create memory management interfaces for viewing, editing, deleting, and understanding agent context.
- Build real-time agent run views showing plans, steps, artifacts, retries, and results over WebSockets or server-sent events.
- Develop human-in-the-loop approval surfaces with clear diffs for actions affecting external systems.
- Build the Worker Builder interface for designing and configuring digital workers in natural language.
- Manage client state for long-running sessions, including reconnection, optimistic updates, partial results, and failure recovery.
- Create a reusable component library for agentic interface patterns.
- Present model outputs accurately, including citations, uncertainty, errors, and empty states.
- Collaborate daily with backend and agent engineers on APIs and event streams.
- Optimize frontend performance across devices while agents stream large volumes of events.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern state management.
- The role is described as requiring a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Production experience building chat, copilot, or other LLM-powered interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with WebSockets, server-sent events, streaming rendering, and reconnection handling.
- Experience integrating frontends with LLM APIs and handling streamed, partial, and structured model outputs.
- Ability to translate designs into fast, polished, responsive production code.
- Strong product sense, communication skills, and comfort working directly with users and technical and non-technical partners.
- Preferred experience includes shipping chat or agent products at scale, familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent agent frameworks, familiarity with the Vercel AI SDK, design systems, accessibility standards, component library ownership, complex process visualization, and experience at a high-growth AI or SaaS startup.

- Annual base salary range of $140,000-$192,000 for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.
