Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and develop high-quality, modular, stable, and scalable software for the Insights Platform.
- Build data and analytics services, self-service tools, and interfaces for Bloomberg applications and internal engineering teams.
- Contribute to a high-throughput distributed system processing hundreds of billions of requests per day.
- Help build a regional version of the analytical engine to improve resiliency, availability, and latency.
- Develop insights capabilities such as billing, metering, anomaly detection, and trend analysis.
- Interact with teams across Bloomberg to promote adoption of the platform.
- Lead projects from ideation through delivery and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience working with an object-oriented programming language such as C, C++, or Python.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in system design, architecture, and development of scalable software.
- Interest in working with Python and C++.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and all phases of software development.
- Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Experience building high-volume data analytics pipelines is preferred.
- Experience with columnar stores such as ClickHouse is preferred.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers is preferred.
