Responsibilities

Develop firmware verification strategies and test plans based on engineering requirements and design specifications.
Develop and execute tests for the safety, functionality, efficiency, and standards compliance of solar microinverter products.
Design and implement automated test systems in Python and Ruby for embedded firmware testing and continuous integration.
Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to support design-for-test.
Use power meters, oscilloscopes, DC supplies, and other laboratory equipment for functional, efficiency, and safety test coverage.
Support project planning with Quality Assurance, Development, and Product Management teams.
Conduct grid-code certification testing and interact with certification and test laboratories.
Coach and train technical staff on test equipment, procedures, and automation software.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Power Systems.
8+ years of experience in a similar embedded firmware test, DVT, or QA engineering role.
Strong Python programming experience for controlling test equipment and analyzing data; Ruby experience is a plus.
Experience across embedded firmware design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
In-depth knowledge of worldwide standards including IEEE 1547, IEEE 1741 SA, CA Rule 21, HECO SRD 1.1, AS/NZS 4777.2:2015, SAND2013-9875, UK G83/2, and Sandia standards.
Knowledge of advanced grid functions and fault conditions worldwide.
In-depth familiarity with AC grid simulators and solar panel simulators.
Demonstrated technical leadership in test strategy, design-for-test, and engineering mentorship.
Experience establishing continuous-integration pipelines for embedded firmware testing.
Hands-on experience testing volt/VAR, frequency-watt, and ride-through grid-support functions across multiple regional grid codes.
