Responsibilities
- Own the exploration, design, implementation, and deployment of machine learning features.
- Evaluate, scale, and provide observability for ML features and services.
- Apply ML techniques, LLMs, and natural language understanding to business documents and customer workflow automation.
- Develop ML solutions across Workday’s infrastructure, including training models, developing APIs, and managing product and service lifecycles.
- Stay current with AI, LLM, RAG, autonomous-agent, and orchestration-framework advancements.
- Serve as a technical role model for more junior engineers and technically lead a team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building applied machine learning products at scale across research, design, implementation, production, and production-based evaluation.
- 5+ years of professional Python experience with supporting numeric libraries and production code and model deployment.
- 5+ years of professional experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data or computer science, physics, math, or an equivalent qualification; a Master’s or PhD is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience building information retrieval systems.
- 5+ years of experience building scalable, production-level ML services on platforms such as Kubernetes.
- 5+ years of experience with ML and deep learning frameworks and toolkits such as scikit-learn, Pandas, PySpark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- 3+ years of experience developing with LLMs, RAG, and AI agents.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, ML paradigms and algorithms, and natural language processing, particularly for information retrieval or recommendation systems.
- Professional experience independently solving ambiguous problems and technically leading a team.
Benefits
- Annual base salary range of $128,000–$192,000 CAD for the primary and additional Canadian locations.
- Flexible work arrangement requiring at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners.
