Responsibilities
- Design, implement, review, test, document, troubleshoot, and operate software features end to end.
- Develop frontend applications with Angular and scalable backend services with C# and Microsoft technologies.
- Build and operate cloud-native, data-intensive services on AWS and Azure using microservices architectures.
- Work on sensor anomaly detection, digital twins for water treatment plants, and LLM-powered agents that synthesize water data.
- Champion AI adoption, agentic engineering, AI-assisted development workflows, and AI governance best practices.
- Manage and improve development infrastructure, including build systems, test systems, and testing frameworks.
- Contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and team health.
- Lead and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of industry experience designing, building, and operating large-scale, data-intensive, cloud-native applications using microservices architectures on AWS or Azure.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
- Strong experience with Microsoft development, including .NET and C#.
- Hands-on experience with agentic engineering and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Genuine interest in using AI to accelerate software development.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Preferred experience with database design and development using SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Background in environmental science, time series data, IoT, or industrial controls is an asset.
- Exposure to data science or machine learning concepts is preferred; deep AI/ML expertise is not required.
