Responsibilities
- Implement cross-border FX payments and custody solutions using modern, cloud-native technologies.
- Design and develop system architecture, new application features, and scalable production systems.
- Collaborate with sales, trading, quantitative, product, and technology stakeholders to deliver payments solutions.
- Test applications, improve the software development lifecycle, and enhance product quality.
- Provide third-line production support and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues.
- Replace legacy systems, renovate existing systems, and drive consolidation, automation, and scalability.
- Define and implement departmental engineering best practices and processes.
- Mentor junior team members and provide detailed technical analysis and feedback.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above, or equivalent education, in a STEM discipline.
- Proven experience in software engineering and development with a strong understanding of computer systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring.
- Understanding of ultra-low-latency development practices and preferably foreign exchange systems.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Devin, Claude Code, and Codex to deliver production-grade applications.
- Strong SQL and database skills, messaging technology experience, and experience with caching technologies.
- Experience building new systems, replacing legacy systems, and modernizing existing systems.
- Systems knowledge across software, hardware, and networks, with strong troubleshooting capability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Awareness of industry trends and ability to apply appropriate new technologies.
- Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and KDB is beneficial.
