Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end feature development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Lead technical development of Instawork Lens and Instawork Radiant for data enrichment, labeling, and quality assurance.
- Architect and scale AWS infrastructure and ECS services for high-throughput video transcoding pipelines.
- Build secure data pipelines capable of processing petabytes of global video and telemetry data.
- Maintain precise observability and telemetry across CPU, memory, network, and disk IOPS.
- Use agentic models to accelerate coding while reviewing patterns and making final architectural decisions.
- Mentor mid- and senior-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architecture discussions.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, database internals, and network constraints.
- Extensive full-stack development experience with Python, Django, React, or similar modern frameworks.
- Hands-on experience designing scalable backend systems and managing AWS, ECS/Docker, and CloudWatch infrastructure.
- Experience with data-heavy or high-throughput applications and a willingness to learn new languages and tools.
- Ability to mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural discussions.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced 0-to-1 startup environments and shipping quickly without sacrificing quality.
