Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and support infrastructure systems with parity across single-tenant and multi-tenant models and AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Help engineering teams deploy their services consistently across public cloud environments.
- Apply cloud infrastructure expertise to strengthen and scale dbt Cloud’s multi-cloud capabilities.
- Improve developer experience in partnership with Architecture, Release Engineering, Product Engineering, and Security.
- Use Terraform, Kubernetes, Python, Bash, Helm, ArgoCD, Go, and DataDog to operate and improve the platform.
- Design and build automation that eliminates manual toil and streamlines infrastructure operations at scale.
- Implement infrastructure optimizations that reduce cloud spend while maintaining reliability.
- Participate in a balanced on-call rotation, upgrade tooling, and continuously reduce operational toil.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Python, and Bash.
- Experience with declarative infrastructure as code, ideally using Terraform, or a willingness to learn based on CloudFormation or ARM/Bicep experience.
- Experience working asynchronously as part of a distributed team, with strong communication and writing skills.
- A strong inclination toward automating tasks and reducing manual toil.
- Prior experience in a multi-cloud environment is advantageous.
- More extensive Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting experience is advantageous.
