Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable cloud infrastructure, platform services, and backend systems that improve reliability, availability, performance, efficiency, and productivity at 10X scale.
- Build self-service code and end-to-end infrastructure-as-code and cloud deployment automation for application stacks.
- Provide the roadmap and technical vision for robust cloud infrastructure and platform service growth targeting 99.999% availability.
- Own cloud infrastructure architecture, design, deployment, maintenance, reliability, scalability, and optimization.
- Analyze distributed production deployments and recommend performance improvements and process automation using continuous integration, monitoring, and testing tools.
- Solve complex technical problems across AWS, Azure, GCP, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments, including networking, machine types, domains, role management, CDN, and security.
- Influence multiple engineering teams by sharing deep technical knowledge and improving their productivity and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, engineering leaders, and lead engineers on mission-critical projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 7+ years of total experience; preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 15+ years of hands-on cloud platform engineering experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in system engineering, Cloud DevOps, Cloud SRE, infrastructure-as-code, cloud infrastructure engineering, or high-performance distributed systems.
- 7+ years of experience leading system design and architecture using AWS or Azure services.
- 7+ years of experience building and managing highly available, scalable hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Python or Go, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud service integrations.
- AWS Advanced Architecting and Developing on AWS certifications are preferred.
- Team leadership experience and strong cross-group collaboration, verbal communication, and written communication skills are required.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, design, performance, scalability, availability, and enterprise architecture capabilities are required.
