Base Salary
$140k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to define innovative Layer1 features.
- Architect, design, develop, and manage delivery of Layer1 software features.
- Develop and maintain software using C, C++, and Python.
- Build automated tests and test infrastructure and contribute to functional and design specifications.
- Work with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring PHYs, transceivers, and other Layer1 components to market.
- Design software control interfaces for Layer1 hardware components.
- Build instrumentation and telemetry tools for monitoring and troubleshooting physical link health.
- Provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools.
- Analyze and resolve issues found in customer networks and system testing.
- Mentor new and junior engineers.
Requirements
- A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus 8 years of experience; an MS plus 6 years; a PhD plus 3 years; or equivalent work experience.
- Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving and software-troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently design solutions and implement features and work effectively in small teams.
- Knowledge of digital communication technologies such as modulation and signal encoding schemes is preferred.
- Understanding of IP networking or distributed systems is preferred.
- Experience working with low-level hardware components is preferred.
