Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend software for features of moderate complexity and projects with multiple dependencies.
- Build and scale foundational infrastructure and data pipelines for high-scale marketplace systems.
- Own the software lifecycle from design documentation through production debugging and incident management.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Ops to translate ambiguous requirements into system designs.
- Conduct code reviews, write comprehensive tests, improve system performance, and strengthen production reliability.
- Identify and resolve dependencies, technical debt, and stakeholder issues affecting delivery.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience with data modeling, query optimization, system design, software testing, and monitoring systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with high-load distributed systems, Big Data frameworks such as Spark or Flink, or real-time data streaming such as Kafka.
- Preferred: experience reducing code-level technical debt, mentoring new team members, contributing to engineering culture, and making trade-offs on complex features.
