Base Salary
$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend software for features of moderate complexity and projects with multiple dependencies.
- Build and scale foundational infrastructure, distributed systems, and data pipelines.
- Own the software lifecycle from design documentation through debugging, production issue resolution, and incident management.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Operations to translate ambiguous requirements into system designs.
- Write tests, conduct code reviews, improve system performance, and establish monitoring for code stability.
- Reduce technical debt, unblock dependencies, and support production reliability.
- Mentor new team members and contribute to engineering culture.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience with data modeling, query optimization, and translating customer problems into system design.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience writing tests to verify functionality and establishing monitoring systems.
- Preferred: experience reducing code-level technical debt in high-load distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience mentoring new team members and contributing to engineering culture.
- Preferred: proficiency with Big Data frameworks such as Spark or Flink, or real-time data streaming such as Kafka.
