Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, recruit, and develop a team of Sales Engineers while establishing team structure, performance expectations, career development frameworks, onboarding, and training programs.
- Own and improve the end-to-end pre-sales engineering motion, including technical discovery, RFI/RFP responses, proof-of-concept delivery, opportunity prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Lead or participate in strategic enterprise pre-sales engagements involving point-of-sale, eCommerce, mobile integrations, merchants, and partners.
- Build repeatable pre-sales processes, playbooks, technical assets, demo environments, reusable solution architectures, and knowledge management systems.
- Identify and implement AI-enabled tools, automation, and data-driven systems to improve RFP responses, demo provisioning, discovery insights, pipeline coverage, deal prioritization, and team productivity.
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert on the FreedomPay platform and represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and partner events.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Technology, Systems Integrations, Account Management, and Partner teams to incorporate field intelligence into product and proposition improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; a technical or business discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience managing Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Pre-Sales teams and scaling those functions.
- Previous experience as a practicing Sales Engineer or Solutions Consultant.
- Fintech or payments industry experience is strongly preferred, with POS, eCommerce, mobile payments, payment gateway integrations, certification processes, and ISV or partner ecosystem familiarity advantageous.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining technical talent in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, executive presence, and ability to lead enterprise client and partner engagements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and RFP platforms such as Responsive.
- Experience using AI tools, automation platforms, data-driven systems, scalable processes, systems, or workflows to improve productivity, decision-making, customer experience, or go-to-market operations.
- Preferred qualifications include experience scaling a pre-sales function from early-stage to enterprise maturity, Salesforce CRM exposure, AI/ML-driven solutions experience, and familiarity with workflow orchestration or knowledge management platforms.
- Ability to balance pipeline execution with longer-term team and process development while managing competing priorities across deals, projects, and stakeholders.
