Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of production systems through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortem analysis.
- Maintain end-to-end understanding of application support processes, escalation procedures, support tools, applications, and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts for deployment, scaling, and operational tasks.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Deploy and operate applications on Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts for complex application deployments.
- Manage Kubernetes infrastructure, including nodes, autoscaling, configuration, and secrets.
- Configure and support gateways, virtual services, and service mesh technologies.
- Identify and resolve application and infrastructure performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development teams to design reliable and scalable features and services.
- Maintain system, process, and procedure documentation and continuously improve infrastructure and operational practices.
Requirements
- Must have proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Must have experience with Google Cloud or OpenShift Cloud, with Google Cloud preferred.
- Must have expertise administering and operating Kubernetes, particularly GKE.
- Must have CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions.
- Must have experience creating Docker images and Kubernetes deployments.
- Must have experience developing Helm charts, including templates, hooks, and packaging.
- Must have experience with enterprise security management solutions, including GCP Secret Manager.
- Should have working knowledge of GCO, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Must have hands-on experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
- Must have software development or scripting experience in at least one of Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or Bash.
- Must understand software development processes, models, lifecycles, and methodologies.
- Must be able to use AI tools productively and responsibly while applying critical judgment to data and AI outputs.
