Base Salary
$264k - $395k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve foundational Android infrastructure, including modularization, dependency injection, navigation, deep linking, and application lifecycle systems.
- Design and deliver shared libraries, frameworks, and developer tooling used by Cash App feature teams.
- Drive Android architecture decisions and establish standards across team and organizational boundaries.
- Build observability, performance, experimentation, and platform capabilities that improve developer and customer outcomes.
- Evaluate AI development tools including Claude Code, Codex, and Goose, and build durable AI-powered platform capabilities where appropriate.
- Lead large-scale technical initiatives, architecture reviews, and cross-functional efforts across Cash App’s Android organization.
- Mentor engineers and communicate technical tradeoffs to engineering, product, design, and leadership stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Android development experience with demonstrated organizational-scale impact.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience driving large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, modern Android architecture, build systems, performance profiling, and testing at scale.
- Experience building systems for engineers, with a strong focus on developer experience and platform thinking.
- Active use of AI-assisted development tools and a strong perspective on their effective use and limitations.
- Strong systems thinking, initiative, communication, design documentation, and cross-functional alignment skills.
- Preferred experience with developer platforms, shared libraries, internal tooling, Kotlin Multiplatform, regulated or fintech environments, and mobile experimentation or feature-flagging infrastructure.
