Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and delivery of client engagements while leading and increasing the effectiveness of engineering teams.
- Design, implement, deliver, and test innovative iOS and Android applications for consumer banking use cases.
- Design systems, write code when needed, guide architectural decisions, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, designers, product partners, and Lab49 leadership to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Promote strong software architecture, engineering best practices, and adoption of appropriate technologies.
- Mentor engineers so they become more autonomous, capable, and effective.
- Proactively identify and address delivery risks while maintaining client trust and technical clarity.
Requirements
- 10–12+ years of experience designing and building complex, commercial-grade software systems.
- 4+ years of experience leading Agile teams.
- Proficiency in Swift and native iOS development tools including SwiftUI and UIKit.
- Experience with consumer banking applications, including account management and onboarding.
- Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines for mobile applications.
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred qualifications include native Android development with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, fraud management/KYC/AML, regulatory reporting, on-device biometrics, released App Store applications, AppConfig community standards, enterprise app distribution, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Claude Code, and Copilot.
- A college degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is a bonus qualification.
