Responsibilities
- Support product engineering teams in building fault-tolerant and scalable applications through design discussions, RFCs, and code reviews.
- Design and scope disaster recovery, backup, redundancy, and capacity-planning activities.
- Participate in a global on-call rotation and identify and fix bottlenecks in SaaS customer environments.
- Maintain production systems hosting Vault products.
- Define and design reliability-focused SaaS product features.
- Implement and regularly test disaster-recovery strategies.
- Maintain documentation, operational processes, and runbooks.
- Mentor team members and promote technical communities of practice.
Requirements
- Track record of delivering high-impact, scalable projects and initiatives.
- Current understanding of hosting and networking architecture design patterns.
- Ability to independently drive projects, delegate appropriately, and scale individual output.
- Strong experience using Python or Golang on a significantly sized project or initiative.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
- Experience with automation or configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Expertise in database administration, networking, observability tools, or automation infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with GCP or AWS.
