Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design and delivery of backend services and features, including requirements, API contracts, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
- Make service-level design decisions, establish engineering patterns, and influence broader platform architecture.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership through code reviews, design guidance, delivery ownership, and mentoring of junior and new engineers.
- Drive testing, security, resilience, performance, authentication, authorization, error handling, observability, and safe rollout for a multi-tenant platform.
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, documentation, and workflow automation, with rigorous human review.
- Help establish team practices and review gates for responsible AI-assisted development.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, epic decomposition, and delivery sequencing.
- Partner with product and SOC/automation teams to define scope, boundaries, requirements, and delivery plans.
- Communicate delivery status and manage expectations with technical and non-technical stakeholders across India and the US.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of experience building systems with Java and React or Angular, including at least 2 years of full-stack development experience.
- Strong object-oriented programming, concurrency, data structures, clean-code, and Spring Boot fundamentals.
- Experience designing and operating microservices and RESTful APIs; contract-first or OpenAPI experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka, including topics, consumers, delivery semantics, and eventual-consistency trade-offs.
- Solid MongoDB experience covering data modeling, queries, and indexing, plus working knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization in multi-tenant systems using JWT, OAuth2, and identity integrations such as LDAP or Active Directory.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or an equivalent CI/CD system, Git-based workflows, and static analysis.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, code review, and squad delivery ownership.
- Fluency in Agile/Scrum, including writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and defensible estimates.
- Effective hands-on use of AI development assistants and agentic coding tools, with sound judgment regarding review and quality.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with distributed teams across India and the United States.
- Preferred qualifications include Azure, infrastructure-as-code, SOC or ITSM domains, SIEM/XDR integrations such as QRadar or Cisco XDR, Jira, Cherwell, legacy modernization, technical-debt reduction, mentoring, startup experience, and strong system-design skills.
