Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of backend services and full-stack features from requirements and API contracts through production.
- Make service-level design decisions, establish engineering patterns, and influence platform architecture.
- Provide technical leadership through delivery ownership, code reviews, design guidance, and mentoring of junior and new engineers.
- Drive testing strategy, security, resilience, performance, authentication, authorization, observability, error handling, and safe rollout for a multi-tenant platform.
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools for scaffolding, refactoring, testing, and documentation, with rigorous review and quality gates.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, epic decomposition, and delivery sequencing.
- Partner with product, SOC, and automation teams to define scope, boundaries, and buildable implementation plans.
- Communicate delivery status and manage expectations across technical and non-technical stakeholders and distributed teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of experience building systems with Java and React or Angular, including at least 2 years of full-stack development experience.
- Strong object-oriented programming, concurrency, data structures, clean-code, and Spring Boot fundamentals.
- Experience designing and operating microservices and RESTful APIs; contract-first or OpenAPI experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka event-driven architecture, including topics, consumers, delivery semantics, and eventual-consistency trade-offs.
- Solid MongoDB experience in data modeling, queries, and indexing, plus working knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization in multi-tenant systems using JWT, OAuth2, and LDAP/Active Directory integrations.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tooling, Git-based workflows, and static analysis.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, code review, and squad delivery ownership.
- Fluency in Agile/Scrum, user stories, acceptance criteria, and defensible estimation.
- Effective use of AI development assistants and agentic coding tools with sound review and quality judgment.
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with distributed teams across India and the United States.
- Preferred experience includes Azure, infrastructure-as-code, SOC/ITSM or SIEM/XDR integrations, Jira, Cherwell, legacy modernization, technical-debt reduction, startups, and mentoring early-career engineers.
