Responsibilities
- Interview engineering teams to identify workflow pain points and prioritize tools or architectural changes.
- Design and implement reusable patterns with Nest.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and Kafka producer and consumer patterns for performance and reliable message delivery.
- Own Kubernetes and ArgoCD configurations for automated and safe deployments.
- Lead cross-team architecture, shared-library, service-communication, and legacy-code modernization initiatives.
- Research and roll out internal tools, libraries, and frameworks supporting CI/CD, local development, and observability.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead code reviews, and support adoption through documentation, workshops, and one-on-one guidance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a record of leading teams and providing technical direction.
- Prior experience on Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Experience teams.
- Deep professional expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, including scaling Nest.js backends and React.js frontends.
- Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL query optimization and schema design and Kafka event-driven architecture.
- Experience replacing complex legacy code with scalable and maintainable architecture.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate technical problems into prioritized roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and psychological safety while raising engineering quality.
- Preferred experience with AWS services including MSK, RDS, EKS, S3, and Lambda; Redshift; Terraform; Redis; Python; Celery; SQLAlchemy; and serverless computing.
