Responsibilities
- Develop, review, automate, and execute unit test specifications and cases for automotive embedded software.
- Perform black-box, white-box, target-based, and simulator-based testing to achieve complete coverage.
- Analyze software requirements, architecture, and design documents and support software integration activities.
- Identify, debug, and analyze defects while collaborating with development and engineering teams on resolution.
- Maintain automated test frameworks and improve test methodologies, efficiency, and engineering practices.
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA, and project-specific quality standards.
- Contribute to test planning, effort estimation, risk identification, and project milestone tracking.
- Participate in technical reviews, audits, and customer-facing discussions as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on unit testing approaches and tools.
Requirements
- Requires 5-8 years of experience in embedded software testing, with strong expertise in automotive software unit testing.
- Requires strong Embedded C programming skills and working knowledge of Python scripting for test automation.
- Requires hands-on black-box and white-box testing experience for embedded systems.
- Requires experience with VectorCAST, LDRA, RTRT, or equivalent unit testing tools.
- Requires experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and improving test efficiency.
- Requires knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262 functional safety, MISRA guidelines, and software quality standards.
- Requires experience with automotive ECUs, microcontrollers, and safety-critical embedded systems.
- Requires understanding of CAN, SPI, and ISO 14229 (UDS) automotive communication and diagnostics standards.
- Requires software debugging, root cause analysis, problem-solving, planning, tracking, stakeholder collaboration, and mentoring experience.
- Preferred exposure to Restraint Control Systems or other safety-critical automotive domains.
- ISTQB certification and functional safety project experience are advantageous.
- Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
