Base Salary
$248k - $279k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical direction and architecture decisions for Discord's mobile platform.
- Build and optimize foundational mobile libraries and infrastructure for iOS and Android.
- Drive solutions to performance problems including TTI, memory optimization, and crash reduction.
- Lead React Native infrastructure initiatives and upgrades.
- Architect scalable mobile solutions using React Native and native development when needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence technical decisions.
- Mentor engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the mobile organization.
- Set best practices and engineering standards for mobile development.
Requirements
- 8+ years experience as a software engineer on large, cross-platform software projects.
- 1+ years experience working on a production React Native application at scale.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code and establishing engineering best practices.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to debug complex issues across the stack.
- Passion for creating excellent user experiences and attention to performance details.
- Excellent communication skills to influence technical decisions and build consensus.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
