Base Salary
$117k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define enterprise AWS cloud-native architecture patterns covering compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and AI/ML infrastructure.
- Establish cloud architecture standards, guardrails, reference architectures, governance, and multi-account AWS organization structures.
- Design cost-efficient infrastructure with FinOps principles and evaluate build, buy, and configure decisions.
- Build, prototype, and maintain infrastructure as code using Pulumi with TypeScript or Python and AWS CDK where appropriate.
- Work with engineering teams during delivery, review pull requests, resolve infrastructure decisions, and ensure architectural fidelity through deployment.
- Produce architecture diagrams, IaC repositories, runbooks, security and compliance documentation, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to a Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions Delivery Architect.
- Partner with architecture leadership and business stakeholders on cloud strategy, roadmaps, investment decisions, and workload requirements.
- Share cloud architecture patterns, lead cloud-focused guilds or working groups, and monitor changes in AWS services and healthcare compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in cloud architecture or cloud engineering, primarily designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise AWS cloud platforms, multi-account strategies, cloud governance, and infrastructure as code.
- Expert knowledge of AWS compute, networking, storage, and security services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, S3, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, KMS, Service Control Policies, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS Organizations, Control Tower, cloud-native architecture, enterprise platform design, and multi-account AWS environments.
- Strong proficiency with Pulumi, AWS CDK, Git-based development workflows, modular architecture, state management, policy as code, and drift detection.
- Experience supporting regulated environments such as healthcare, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks is preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certifications are preferred.
- Preferred experience includes AI/ML infrastructure, healthcare data platforms, FinOps tools, cloud migration, platform modernization, healthcare interoperability standards, and embedded architecture delivery models.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor architects and engineers, document architecture and standards, communicate with cross-functional stakeholders, and manage complex initiatives autonomously.
