Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Slice’s Internal Developer Platform for deploying, operating, and troubleshooting services.
- Create self-service tooling and automation to reduce repetitive operational work.
- Design and implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD.
- Improve the Kubernetes platform through reusable patterns, templates, and guardrails.
- Build internal applications and developer tooling in Python.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Use generative AI to build and maintain internal and agentic services.
- Improve observability with Datadog dashboards, metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Partner with product engineering teams to improve developer experience and platform adoption.
- Standardize workflows and automate infrastructure operations while championing reliability, security, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Production-quality software development experience, particularly in Python, for infrastructure automation and internal tooling.
- Experience operating or building on Kubernetes and understanding modern cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Understanding of GitOps principles and experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Strong focus on reliability, observability, monitoring, logging, metrics, incident response, and operational simplicity.
- Clear written and oral communication, including defining requirements in RFC/PRD documents or ticketing systems.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, take ownership from discovery through implementation, and build scalable long-term solutions.
- Proficiency using generative AI tools.
- Experience in product engineering and shipping customer-facing features is a preferred qualification.
