Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions.
  • Modify core frameworks and primary facilities critical to system operation.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable solutions to complex problems.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance within and beyond the team.
  • Lead problem-solving for major project phases and advanced software technical issues.
  • Develop software using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and related engineering languages.
  • Conduct code reviews, write unit and automation tests, and perform manual testing.
  • Improve development and testing methodologies and related frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot large, mission-critical client implementations.
  • Participate in Scrum activities including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate cross-team activities and mentor junior staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • At least 9 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise Java.
  • Experience with Java Collections API, concurrency, multithreading, JDBC, and web services.
  • At least 6 years of experience designing and developing highly transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
  • At least 6 years of cloud-native application development experience on one or more cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • At least 8 years of experience with Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and cloud databases.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle and SQL Server, transactional database concepts, and complex high-performance SQL.
  • Experience designing and developing high-performance, multi-tiered database applications and solving complex software problems.
  • C#, React, and JavaScript UI development experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and understanding of Agile development practices and principles.
  • Financial trading systems experience is a strong plus.
