Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services powering Disney’s advertising platforms.
- Develop and maintain modern web applications for advertisers and internal teams.
- Design distributed-service solutions and contribute to architectural decisions across teams.
- Write code for new features and service optimization while maintaining quality through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in task breakdown, estimation, scrum ceremonies, cross-team collaboration, and progress communication.
- Participate in on-call rotation, production support, monitoring, and incident investigation.
- Define and monitor technical and operational metrics and identify opportunities for system optimization.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews and technical coaching and lead complex initiatives that scale AI-enabled products and shared capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or another coding language.
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
- Experience designing API-driven architectures and integrating model-serving or external services across cloud environments.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in testing, CI/CD, and maintainable code practices.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with large-scale distributed systems, Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks, ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks, Kafka or Kinesis, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and high-throughput or low-latency systems.
