Goldman SachsResponsibilities
- Manage production services by measuring and monitoring availability, capacity, and overall system health.
- Consult on system design, capacity planning, and launch reviews before software goes live.
- Drive system changes that improve capacity, reliability, and scalability.
- Practice incident management and conduct blameless postmortems.
- Build improvements to system behavior, control, monitoring, automation, and self-healing capabilities.
- Define and maintain Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.
- Conduct capacity modeling and performance tuning to meet future demand.
- Collaborate with engineering, business, and technology groups on support and project work.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more of Java, Python, and Perl.
- Experience with automated testing, SDLC concepts, Linux application development, algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Proficiency with observability technologies including distributed tracing, logging, metrics, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
- Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and load-balancing strategies in distributed systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related programming-focused technical field.
- Preferred: experience with SRE, relational databases, Hadoop, big-data technologies, financial industry or compliance/risk functions, Chaos Engineering, fault-injection testing, cloud-native architecture, managed cloud services, error budgeting, Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
