Responsibilities
- Champion site reliability culture and practices while documenting and sharing knowledge across the organization.
- Lead initiatives that improve the reliability, stability, scalability, and performance of applications and platforms using data-driven analysis.
- Define service level indicators, service level objectives, and error budgets with stakeholder partners and customers.
- Serve as the main point of contact during major incidents and troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize business and financial impact.
- Conduct resiliency design reviews, lead medium- to large-sized product initiatives, and break complex work into actionable tasks for engineers.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across software engineering, architecture, security, performance, and reliability domains.
- Use and evaluate enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for incident triage, troubleshooting, post-incident analysis, and reliability workflows.
- Define guardrails and ensure AI-assisted operational recommendations meet correctness, resiliency, security, traceability, and auditability expectations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, and toil reduction.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve site reliability workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define usage guardrails, and align outcomes with resiliency and security expectations.
- Proficiency in observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and tooling.
- Proficiency with containers and container orchestration.
- Experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with depth in one or more technical disciplines and the ability to evaluate emerging technologies.
