Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, positioning, design, and coordination of integration efforts across intended systems and subsystems.
- Design modern data architecture and integration layers for data flow, transformation, consolidation, analysis, reporting, and operational use.
- Design and improve multi-cloud War Data Platform architecture with data sharing capabilities and standardized APIs across security enclaves.
- Ensure incorporated technologies align with the program baseline and engage advanced technology vendors, Department of War organizations, industry, and open-source communities.
- Own the end-to-end cloud and platform architecture experience.
- Develop strategic IT goals and roadmaps and present architecture materials to senior Government officials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; a master’s degree is also preferred.
- At least five years of experience with cloud architecture, systems engineering, solutions architecture, requirements gathering, business process requirements engineering, and agile development practices.
- Experience designing, building, and implementing enterprise-class architectures with qualities such as reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, security, and usability.
- Experience developing solutions across diverse and heterogeneous IT cloud environments and aligning standards, frameworks, and security with business and technology strategy.
- Experience with the Department of War Architecture Framework (DoWAF).
- CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience with programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar.
- Experience architecting and engineering federated multi-cloud solutions, including cloud-neutral, cloud-native, and open-source solutions.
- Experience leading architectural teams, engaging multiple industry stakeholders, and presenting to senior Government officials.
- Experience with data analytics, AI, ML model development, RPA development, secure application development, software lifecycle management, and DoW-compliant cloud infrastructure.
- At least five years of experience with cybersecurity policies or information technologies related to Department of War networks, classified networks, or communications systems supporting intelligence operations.
- One or more comparable certifications, including Professional Cloud Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified Architect Professional, CompTIA A+ Technician, Cisco CCNA, Network+, or Security+.
