Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to derive scenarios and user requirements.
  • Identify dependencies and develop design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, guide other engineers, monitor systems on call, communicate service status, and initiate restoration actions for operational issues.
  • Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance through new technical solutions and operational patterns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C and C++, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: Master's degree with 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree with 12+ years, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of experience with kernel development, embedded systems, hardware offloads, or virtualization.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of experience with storage datapath performance, memory management, or device virtualization.
  • Preferred: 4+ years of experience with performance tuning, measurement, and data analysis.
  • Preferred: 6+ years of experience with Cloud Service Providers, root cause analysis, or measurement and validation.

Benefits

  • The role may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800-$274,800 per year, with different ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
  • The position will remain open for at least five days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
