Responsibilities
- Design, review, and execute test cases, scenarios, and suites across complex market technology platforms.
- Perform functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, parallel, operational readiness, and production verification testing.
- Validate trading workflows, order management, market data processing, and multi-protocol system integrations.
- Prepare test data, manage environment dependencies, and coordinate execution readiness activities.
- Identify, investigate, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Provide test execution reporting, quality metrics, and release evidence.
- Participate in risk assessments, test planning, estimations, and release readiness reviews.
- Design, build, and maintain test automation suites and learn vendor-provided and internally developed automation tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the QE&T Community of Practice and use approved AI tools to improve test engineering productivity.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software testing experience within complex, mission-critical, high-availability systems.
- Experience testing distributed, event-driven, or real-time transaction processing systems.
- Experience with multiple protocols and interfaces, including FIX, APIs, messaging platforms, and file-based integrations or equivalents.
- Experience analyzing message flows, system interactions, and data transformations across integrated platforms.
- Strong experience with system, system integration, end-to-end, regression, and release testing.
- Experience in highly regulated or operationally critical industries such as financial markets, banking, or payments.
- Experience troubleshooting production-like issues using logs, message tracing, databases, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with SQL and reconciliation of large, complex datasets.
- Experience in CI/CD delivery environments, test automation frameworks, automation strategy, and automated test execution.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments, command-line tools, Jira, Confluence, and modern test management practices.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes exchange, clearing, settlement, derivatives, market data, electronic trading, algorithmic trading, market surveillance, or low-latency/high-throughput systems.
- Preferred knowledge includes FIX, ITCH, OUCH, GLIMPSE, FAST, Kafka, Avro, event streaming, and real-time data distribution architectures.
- Preferred experience includes Java or Python development, cloud-native architectures, containerisation, and modern DevOps practices.
- ISTQB Advanced certification or equivalent is desirable.
