Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical scope and direction of the team’s functional area.
- Design scalable, reliable, and secure platform architecture and set short- and long-term technical direction.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and establish engineering best practices through design reviews.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical challenges and resolve architectural bottlenecks across teams.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 5 years of experience designing, building, and testing large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure services.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management, SRE, and neighboring engineering groups.
- Experience with architectural patterns, system optimization, automation, scaling analysis, codebase simplification, and operational improvement.
- Demonstrated thought leadership and innovation in solving complex, open-ended problems.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and introducing engineering practices.
