Sr. Engineer, Compiler - SaLT (Remote, GBR)
CrowdStrikeResponsibilities
- Maintain and improve the domain-specific language compiler codebase, primarily written in Python.
- Design and implement new programming-language and compiler features.
- Gather and integrate feedback about design proposals and user needs.
- Debug cross-platform and integration issues with other engineering teams.
- Design and write integration and end-to-end tests.
- Balance independent work with user interviews and intra-team coordination.
- Shape the direction, roadmap, and architecture of the internal tooling.
- Consult on system design decisions and coordinate with teams across CrowdStrike.
Requirements
- Demonstrated history of shipping quality software.
- Ability to work through complex codebases requiring careful analysis and problem solving.
- Architectural and design experience building software across multiple system layers.
- Strong technical communication, including presentations, architecture documentation, and soliciting user feedback.
- Interest in compilers and fundamental computer science concepts.
- Significant experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team.
- Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Strong Python coding skills are preferred.
- Compiler, programming-language tooling, software optimization, performance, or distributed-systems experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Rust, C, C++, Swift, Agda, TLA+, event-processing systems, or message-passing languages is preferred.
