Responsibilities
- Design and build a central AI platform and governance layer using AWS Bedrock and an LLM gateway with token budgets, rate limits, key management, guardrails, audit logging, observability, and cost controls.
- Architect and develop internal AI tools and MCP servers, including RAG pipelines, vector search, LLM integrations, and conversational interfaces.
- Build secure ingestion and indexing pipelines for Confluence, SharePoint, document repositories, and internal APIs with appropriate access controls.
- Develop backend services and APIs exposing AI capabilities to internal users and future customer-facing product teams.
- Establish engineering standards for testing, deployment, monitoring, and model evaluation.
- Own the full development lifecycle from requirements through production monitoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful recent experience integrating LLMs into real systems.
- Strong backend engineering skills and Python proficiency, with the ability to build full-stack internal tools end-to-end.
- Hands-on experience with AI gateways or model-routing layers such as LiteLLM, Portkey, or AWS Bedrock, including token limits, guardrails, observability, and cost management.
- Practical MCP server experience or strong fluency with similar tool-calling and agent integration patterns; MCP experience is preferred.
- Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex and defining workflows and standards for other engineers.
- Working knowledge of RAG, vector search, and LLM evaluation.
- Experience with CI/CD, containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with PII handling, access controls, data classification, and data security practices; regulated-environment experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and fluent English.
