Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly performant backend APIs and mobile banking flows used across multiple ING markets.
- Work in international multidisciplinary squads with business colleagues and native mobile developers.
- Contribute to system architecture, software design, automated testing, pipelines, and the broader mobile app ecosystem.
- Lead and coach junior colleagues and transfer technical knowledge through presentations, workshops, and documentation.
- Act as a technical sparring partner for business colleagues and help establish new engineering standards.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience with proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Spring, Maven, Sonar, and Checkmarx.
- Experience with Kafka and Oracle is a plus.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps or GitHub, SonarQube, Docker, and OpenShift in CI/CD and pipeline environments.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies and automated testing technologies.
- Experience with design patterns, object-oriented and functional programming paradigms, system architecture, and software design.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, architectural, communication, and knowledge-transfer skills.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and agile environments.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with a strong interest in current software development and technology trends.
