Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver GenAI applications that enhance client experience and create business value.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business leaders to align solutions with Schwab’s enterprise AI strategy.
- Build and support complex products from concept through production in distributed-system environments.
- Contribute to technical discussions, engineering standards, testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and monitor LLM-generated outputs for quality and consistency.
- Participate in a collaborative, on-site AI engineering team and help mentor peers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience and 3 years as a hands-on engineer in startups and/or large organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience building complex products from scratch and supporting them in production.
- At least 1 year of experience developing applications that use AI models for business impact.
- At least 2 years of experience with applications or data pipelines interfacing with large datasets.
- At least 2 years of experience with containers and cloud-native applications, including public-cloud deployment using infrastructure as code.
- Preferred experience with proprietary or open-source LLMs such as Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI, and with LLM-powered applications.
- Preferred experience writing and maintaining tests, evaluating LLM outputs, Python, and front-end development.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, communication skills, problem-solving ability, business-domain knowledge, and commitment to continuous learning.
- Master’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
