Base Salary
$113k - $244k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, test, deploy, and support scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure software applications, systems, and platforms.
- Translate business requirements and product needs into technical designs and solutions with product, architecture, engineering, analytics, and leadership stakeholders.
- Contribute to or lead system design and architecture decisions, with increasing scope based on role level.
- Advance automated testing, code and design reviews, observability, continuous integration and delivery, security, performance, and operational resilience practices.
- Maintain production software, monitor system health, and triage and resolve issues.
- Collaborate through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions, and shared ownership of delivery outcomes.
- Mentor and coach engineers, share knowledge, and influence engineering standards and technical direction.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Modern software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting scalable applications or distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience for Senior Software Engineer, 5+ years for Staff Software Engineer, or 7+ years for Senior Staff Software Engineer.
- Strong programming and software engineering skills appropriate to the role level.
- Knowledge of system architecture, distributed system design, data structures, algorithms, integration patterns, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience analyzing, solving, and communicating complex technical problems and tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Commitment to mentorship, knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and high engineering standards.
