Responsibilities
- Design scalable, resilient, highly available distributed systems and define solution architecture.
- Lead technical design discussions and review architecture, designs, and code.
- Design and review microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure high-performance applications.
- Address scalability, reliability, performance, and security challenges.
- Drive production readiness through observability, monitoring, operational excellence, and incident management.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams on end-to-end software delivery.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Support frontend deployment, operations, authentication flows, API integration, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of software engineering experience with a strong backend engineering background.
- Strong programming experience in Java and hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Apache Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience with architecture reviews, technical design discussions, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, database performance, messaging, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with one or more of Datadog, New Relic, ELK Stack, Grafana, and Prometheus, plus monitoring, tracing, log analysis, alerting, and root-cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js and frontend deployment and operations.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives, with strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience includes Python, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Terraform, CloudFormation, AI/ML applications, listed AI/LLM frameworks, AI-powered developer tools, DDD, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, service mesh, feature flag platforms, and FinTech, payments, banking, or digital lending.
