Responsibilities
- Design, build, roll out, and maintain Playwright automation frameworks using TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Test APIs, microservice-based systems, responsive web behavior, mobile-web experiences, and cross-browser functionality.
- Diagnose flaky and intermittent failures, identify root causes, and improve automation reliability.
- Use and govern AI coding agents for test design, authoring, maintenance, execution, and triage.
- Define AI-assisted testing practices, including instruction files, reusable prompts, and review gates.
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, clients, and non-technical stakeholders on BDD, quality risks, and technical trade-offs.
- Extend automation to native mobile platforms when needed and coach colleagues through QA community knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of test automation experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on Playwright experience with TypeScript or JavaScript in production.
- Strong knowledge of Playwright fixtures, locator strategies, auto-waiting, network interception and mocking, trace-based debugging, and parallel execution.
- Experience defining and implementing automation framework architecture rather than only extending an existing framework.
- Experience with API automation, microservices testing, HTTP, network inspection tools, and CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Practical BDD experience in an Agile team and the ability to demonstrate effective AI-assisted test generation and validation.
- Preferred qualifications include native iOS or Android automation with Appium or WebdriverIO, another automation stack such as Selenium, multi-step AI agent workflows, performance or cloud testing, and mentoring or technical writing experience.
