Base Salary
$130k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own data migrations end-to-end, including source-system discovery, schema mappings, ingestion settings, validations, dry runs, and production launches.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases and prevent unsafe or incorrect data from reaching production.
- Lead customer calls and explain data requirements, constraints, and tradeoffs to government staff.
- Improve migration tools, templates, and playbooks to make onboarding faster and more repeatable.
- Document recurring issues and tooling gaps and share feedback with Product and Engineering.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in data migrations, ETL/ELT, technical implementations, or a closely related role involving messy production data.
- Ability to work directly in a Python codebase by reading, debugging, and shipping changes through pull requests.
- Strong practical SQL proficiency for analysis, validation, reconciliation, and transformation.
- Experience translating ambiguous stakeholder requirements into concrete, testable migration or implementation plans.
- Track record of high ownership, execution, and attention to correctness in customer-impacting environments.
- Preferred: experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, workflow orchestration, pipeline operations, safe reruns, and large backfills or imports.
- Preferred: customer-facing implementation or onboarding experience with non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: familiarity with geospatial data or GIS tooling such as ArcGIS, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Preferred: experience in B2B SaaS or similarly complex product domains where data correctness affects workflows.
- Preferred: experience partnering with Product and Engineering to turn operational problems into playbooks, tooling improvements, and system-level fixes.
