Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes and Pulumi.
- Support the security and operations of the Game Warden platform across air-gapped and classified environments.
- Build and manage secure CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps practices.
- Integrate and maintain SIEM and security tooling for observability and compliance.
- Design, develop, and debug secure, modular, high-performance Go microservices.
- Assess infrastructure needs, prioritize development, and deliver product roadmap milestones.
- Document infrastructure and procedures to enable secure, repeatable, auditable deployments.
- Collaborate with defence and government stakeholders to provision secure cloud resources and meet accreditation criteria.
- Conduct R&D and experimentation for platform capabilities in secure and disconnected environments.
- Act as a senior technical resource shaping UK DevSecOps strategy and infrastructure standards.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure software development.
- Architect-level experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native application orchestration.
- Strong proficiency in Go or similar languages such as Rust, with infrastructure-as-code experience; Pulumi is preferred.
- Experience with UK and international compliance frameworks including MOD Secure by Design, JSP 453, NCSC Cloud Security Principles, and NIST 800-53.
- Proven experience deploying systems in air-gapped or classified environments.
- Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Understanding of authentication flows, event-driven architecture, and microservice patterns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and thorough documentation habits.
- Ability to work independently and in distributed teams while managing competing priorities.
- Proficiency using AI tools such as Claude and Gemini for coding, debugging, documentation, research, and problem-solving with appropriate human oversight.
- An AWS, Google, or Azure Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
- Prior experience in UK defence, national security, or regulated government environments is preferred.
- Experience in early-stage or high-growth startup environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with UK accreditation and risk-management processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with GitLab, Google Workspace, and Slack is preferred.
- Candidates must be UK nationals or qualifying dual nationals, have sufficient UK residency history for DV sponsorship, and hold or be eligible to obtain Developed Vetting clearance.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is unavailable.
