Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for compliance and analytics products.
- Own features from technical design through deployment and monitoring.
- Build pipelines that ingest, normalize, and index on-chain activity across multiple blockchains.
- Contribute to the architecture of new compliance capabilities.
- Model data and optimize queries against relational and NoSQL stores at scale.
- Translate regulatory requirements into technical designs with compliance and product specialists.
- Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of production services.
- Use AI-assisted development tools in the regular engineering workflow.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building production backend systems in Java.
- Strong command of Spring Boot, JVM fundamentals, concurrency, and memory behavior.
- Solid SQL and data-modeling skills, including diagnosing slow queries.
- Experience designing and operating web-facing services at scale, including request handling, caching, rate limiting, and idempotency.
- Working proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and English.
- Daily experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex, with sound judgment about their supervision.
- Ability to take ownership of unfamiliar codebases and read them quickly.
- Preferred: AWS production experience with ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Preferred: blockchain or crypto experience, including node RPC integration, on-chain data indexing, wallet infrastructure, or transaction infrastructure.
- Preferred: Kafka or similar streaming-platform experience.
- Preferred: experience in regulated environments such as financial services, payments, AML/KYC, or RegTech.
- Preferred: familiarity with the FATF Travel Rule, sanctions screening, or transaction monitoring.
- Preferred: self-starting, exploratory approach and willingness to challenge designs constructively.
