Responsibilities

  • Own the target and solution architecture for the Remedial Action and Capacity Management domains throughout the IT solution lifecycle.
  • Translate business, regulatory, and technical requirements into secure, sustainable, and cost-effective architectures.
  • Design and evolve application, data, and integration architectures, including technical roadmaps, architecture standards, and interfaces with 4ÜNB solutions and external market partners.
  • Ensure architecture compliance and adherence to IT governance, security, data-protection, and KRITIS requirements.
  • Analyze and manage technical dependencies, risks, and optimization opportunities across systems, services, and organizational boundaries.
  • Advise projects and product teams on solution design, technology selection, and strategic architecture decisions.
  • Collaborate with business units, product and service teams, IT security, infrastructure, and platform teams.
  • Represent 50Hertz in national and international architecture and subject-matter bodies of the 4ÜNB and Elia Group.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience as a Solution Architect, Software or Systems Architect, Enterprise Architect, or in a comparable role responsible for complex IT solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of modern application, integration, and platform architectures, including APIs, middleware, data flows, and cloud, on-premise, and hybrid solutions.
  • Experience developing target architectures, transformation and migration strategies, and managing technical dependencies across multiple systems and services.
  • Experience with architecture governance and developing, documenting, and enforcing architecture decisions, target visions, and roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of IT service management and ITIL, and experience developing secure, stable, and cost-effective IT solutions.
  • Strong communication and moderation skills and experience working with business units, product and service owners, development teams, IT security, infrastructure, and platform teams.
  • Very good understanding of business processes, data, applications, and technical platforms.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools in a professional context.
  • Fluent business-level German and English, at least C1, in speaking and writing.
  • Preferred: experience with Redispatch, Capacity Management, market communication, or comparable energy-sector processes.
  • Preferred: experience designing solutions for critical infrastructure and knowledge of information-security standards such as ISO 27001.
