Base Salary
$165k - $207k/yr
Responsibilities
- Adopt and evolve cloud-managed database solutions for Box’s data platform.
- Design scalable approaches to database infrastructure and high-scale data-tier challenges.
- Simplify database-change management and provide automated schema-management services.
- Partner with engineering teams to design scalable relational database schemas.
- Manage critical production systems for performance, availability, and consistency.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to and triage production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and code design principles.
- Strong grasp of high-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience with JVM-based languages such as Java and Scala.
- Preferred: familiarity with relational database solutions such as MySQL.
- Strong ownership, persistence, drive, and communication skills.
